Jesus is The Only Way
Jesus is The Only Way.
John has consistently pointed out throughout his Gospel that the responsibility is ours as to whether or not we believe and act upon the fact that Jesus truly is the Son of God, and the one path to eternal life.
In chapter 6, especially, Jesus has not been coy about His identity. After he declares that He is the Bread of Life, and the only path to eternal life, several of his followers found this teaching too difficult to swallow and chose to leave. However, those closest to him remained. In Peter's response as to why he stayed, we see the heart of the Gospel: Jesus is the source of eternal life, his words are true, and He is the chosen one of God.
Now, we must decide, will we believe in and follow Him, or will we walk away, as this is a "hard teaching?"
