Salvation is based on the work of Jesus on the cross where He sacrificially died, paying the price required of sin. Any person who is old enough to hear and understand the Gospel should respond in faith, repent of his/her sins, and be united with Christ by an outward confession of faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and by baptism.
